Welcome to the Viral Video Award 2011

In the forth year we called on people to submit films with viral messages for our online competition! It is part of the 27th International Short Film Festival Berlin and is held and hosted by interfilm Berlin, Zucker.Kommunikation and the Heinrich Boell Foundation.

Vote your favorite virals here from Okt. 17th to Nov. 17th!

We at the moment view hundreds of submissions to find the virals nominated. Deadline for submissions was Sept. 11th 2011

Three prizes will be awarded:

Audience Award worth € 1.000,- given by Schwarze Dose 28
Jury Award worth € 1.000,-  given by ´Project Future´
Award for Best political Viral with the themes climate, democracy or justice worth € 1000,- given by the Heinrich Boell Foundation

Award Ceremony: Nov. 18th 2011 at 9 pm at Roter Salon (Volksbühne Berlin) within the 27th International Short Film Festival Berlin organised by interfilm Berlin

The Competition

We are looking for films with a message. All entries should be aiming to communicate either a promotional, ideational, political or original message. They should not be older than two years and should have already been successful at spreading the net via direct url, or at least be on the way to doing just that.

Submission time: May 11th to Sept. 11th 2011.

The online voting will take place from Oct. 17th to Nov. 17th 2011 on this website (www.viralvideoaward.com).

In addition to the audience award a jury decides on the „best viral“ and the „best political viral“.

The films of competition will be shown at the 27th International Short Film Festival Berlin – 15th to 20th of November 2011 – on screen. The award ceremony will take place during the festival on November 18th 2011.
